A Season Full of Traditions

Los Altos Festival of Lights ParadeAs the weather gets colder and the nights grow longer, there are visual reminders everywhere that a season full of traditions is beginning. What is common to most is the addition of lights.

They begin to appear as early as Halloween, when we place Jack-o’-Lanterns on our doorsteps to welcome those ghosts and goblins that are trick or treating. From then the lights begin to appear throughout our neighborhoods as people start to add lights to their homes, which glow with faith and light. This can even create spectacular displays on entire blocks.

Holiday Cookie DecoratingOn a Sunday in December, Enchanté offered parents and children a holiday treat in Campagne One Main bistro.

From Noon to 2 PM parents were sent ‘shopping’ and to enjoy some free time while the bistro became the site for our Children Only Cookie Decorating Party.

Happy young participants built their own eatable snowmen and holiday houses from fresh-baked ready-to-frost cookies and a colorful selection of festive decorations.

Recently Campagne One Main, Enchanté Boutique Hotel’s bistro, showcased holiday table decor by celebrated designer Roberta Peters.

Roberta, co-designer of Enchanté’s interior, created an informal, inviting Thanksgiving table with warm country styling, mixing French antiques with Pottery Barn settings.

Roberta believes personalized table decor, both expensive and inexpensive, can be combined. Pieces with storied pasts help create enticing dinner conversation of trips taken and memories made.
