The power and influence of women was felt Saturday, February 6, in downtown Los Altos when Abby Ahrens, the synamic developer and owner of Enchanté Boutique Hotel, hosted a reception for media personality and entrepreneur Wendy Diamond. More than 17 years ago, Diamond launched Animal Fair, one of the country’s leading dog and pet lifestyle media companies, and became a trailblazer, pioneer, and media darling in the animal welfare world – she holds three Guinness records and is sometimes called “the Martha Stewart of pet lifestyle.”
When condo developer and Francophile Abigail Ahrens decided to create a boutique hotel in downtown Los Altos, she opted for a style more romantic than Silicon Valley chic. She furnished the mini-chateau’s 19 rooms with vintage French prints, chandeliers, elegant fabrics and objets d’art. The resulting look radiates charm, not clutter, with service designed to restore joie de vivre.
